Apple’s Siri Set for Major Upgrade: Get Ready for a Surprising Change!
Anticipation is mounting as Siri's significant Apple Intelligence update is expected to debut earlier than initially thought, potentially arriving with the iOS 18.3 release instead of iOS 18.4.
Renowned for his insider knowledge, Mark Gurman of Bloomberg reports that some of Siri's advanced features, powered by Apple's cutting-edge intelligence, may make their appearance in iOS 18.3. In his Power On newsletter, Gurman notes, “The most significant update after iOS 18.1 is expected to be iOS 18.4, incorporating numerous new Siri capabilities, although some features might surface with iOS 18.3.”
This revelation hints at the possibility that the sophisticated Apple Intelligence features could be introduced sooner than anticipated, ahead of the iOS 18.4 launch targeted for March 2025.
The upgrades to Siri's Apple Intelligence promise enhancements like understanding on-screen content and adapting to personal context, tailoring the assistant to your unique needs. While Gurman hasn't specified which intelligence features may precede the iOS 18.4 release, the news is promising for those holding out for a refined digital assistant on the upcoming iPhone 16 series.
Siri's iOS 18.3 Glow-Up
Gurman indicates that Apple Intelligence will gradually roll out starting with iOS 18.1 in October, followed by updates in December, January, and finally March with iOS 18.4. This extension of features initially introduced at WWDC 2024 positions them to be accessible to users before the spring of 2025.
Presently, Siri in iOS 18.1 features a refreshed design and the capacity to address multiple user queries. However, it lacks the Apple Intelligence integration necessary to rival contemporary competitors like ChatGPT integrated systems as seen with Google Gemini on devices like the Pixel 9 Pro.
